The working principle of a folding machine mainly depends on its different folding mechanisms and folding methods. Generally speaking, a folding machine mainly consists of three parts: paper feeding, folding and paper collection. Its working principle can be elaborated in detail as follows:

A. Paper Feeding Section.
The paper feeding section is divided into two types: flat paper feeding device and continuous paper feeding device. Its main task is to separate and convey the paper to ensure that it can be accurately delivered to the folding section. Paper separation is a key factor affecting production efficiency. Modern advanced paper feeding devices, such as the paper table feeding device of Zihong Company, feature an efficient automatic paper separation system, which can significantly enhance production efficiency.

B. Folding Section.
The folding part can be classified into the following working principles based on the different folding mechanisms.

Knife-style folding page.When the folding machine is in operation, the printed sheets are first separated by the paper feeding device, and then the paper is carried forward by the conveyor belt.After the paper is positioned longitudinally and laterally, the movable folding knife of the folding mechanism extends out of the folding roller and presses the paper into the gap between the two relatively rotating folding rollers.The folding roller sends out the paper to complete the first fold.After going through processes such as cutting and punching, a folded book sheet is conveyed by the conveyor belt to the second, third and fourth folding positions, completing the subsequent folding work.

Fence-style folding pages.The grid-type folding mechanism completes the folding work by cooperating with the folding fence, the relatively rotating folding roller and the baffle.The paper is conveyed into the folding fence. When it hits the fence baffle, the paper is forced to bend into half shape and be folded into the middle of the folding roller, completing one fold.Subsequently, the folded book sheet was sent to the next folding fence, and the subsequent folding work was carried out in the same way.
